Sweet 16 party planning help or ideas?

Im planning for a sweet 16 next year in April. I live in the Monmouth county, New Jersey Area. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good themes and decorations. For example i would like a nice centerpiece but it cannot cost alot because im paying mostly for the sweet 16 with the money from my job and whatever i get from the party. I don't want a cheap little thing from party city but i don't want a big gl vase with flowers either because i can't afford it. Also what should i do for favors to give out. My friend had tubes filed with MM's and it said her name and the date of the sweet 16 and ribbons coming out of the tube top. So easy stuff like that is nice. For my lighting on the table i wanted candle but i wanted the candles to say my name on the little gl thing there in does that cost alot? Help please anyone :) And any tips would be great too!
